After nearly 60 years, the original gas lights throughout Craneridge were removed in 2024. The Town of Concord has since required lighting within the neighborhood for public safety purposes. Because the Town is responsible for the public roads, they have the authority to require street lighting.

This left the community with two primary options: allow the Town to install standard overhead cobra-style street lights commonly seen on public roads, or install our own more aesthetically pleasing pedestal-style LED lighting at key intersections throughout the neighborhood.

Following multiple community meetings, feedback from residents, a petition with more than 130 signatures, and a neighborhood survey conducted in late 2024, the Board of Directors agreed to move forward with pedestal-style LED lighting similar to the demonstration lights currently installed near the Meadow.
