Starting this week (Nov. 3, 2024), we’ll be tagging trees for treatment and resuming HWA treatment, which will include trees with known infestations. We’ll also proactively treat large healthy Hemlocks along Hardwood between the mail center and the 4-way stop sign.
In the spring of this year, we treated about 120 Hemlocks. This month, we hope to treat an additional 75-100. All treated trees are recorded with GPS coordinates and tagged with a unique number. Treatment is overseen by forester and HWA expert, Joshua Konvitz.
A highly effective liquid treatment (Imidacloprid) will be applied directly to the base of the trees and will last for 5-7 years. There will be NO spraying. Left untreated, HWA infested trees will die within 10 years. Sadly, we will not be able to save all our Hemlocks.
With the gas lights now removed, the time has come to finalize the next phase in the future of street lighting in Craneridge.
A document has been compiled summarizing our options and next steps. Please find it in the members only section for review here: https://craneridge.org/street-lighting/
Also, plan to bring you questions and feedback to a special informational town hall style meeting .

For decades, one of the most successful and popular Craneridge social events was the Gourmet Club. Several times a year, members of the Gourmet Club collaborated to plan and prepare a gourmet dinner. Club members were divided into rotating groups of eight. Each individual or couple was assigned a dish to prepare, and one member or couple volunteered to host. On the designated night, every group sat down together at their host’s home in Craneridge to enjoy their unique collaborative culinary adventure!
The Craneridge Neighborhood Engagement Committee (NEC) is interested in reviving this endearing tradition. To start, we are going to plan just one dinner — for Saturday, November 16th. Please complete this form to let us know your level of interest. Thank you!
This Event is open to Craneridge (Adult) Residents and their (Adult) Guests. Please try to get your Interest-Response submitted to the Craneridge Neighborhood Engagement Committee by Wednesday, November 6th.
As a friendly reminder, the HOA Board is composed of volunteers who are here to manage the business and fiscal matters of the community in alignment with our Mission. We are not here to police the actions of your neighbors in matters that fall outside of our covenants and by-laws.
If you’re concerned about nuisance or illegal behaviors, we encourage you to contact the Erie County Sheriff’s District Colden Substation. For non-emergencies, dial 716-858-2903.
If loose dogs are an issue, please reach out to Concord Dog Control at 716-863-5841 or 716-592-7875.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to work together to foster a positive community atmosphere.
