Through a multiyear partnership between Craneridge and the Erie County Soil and Water Conservation District (ECSWCD), work on Craneridge’s second major erosion remediation project could begin as early as Monday, September 14.
The project is valued at approximately $26,000 and is funded largely through ECSWCD. The Craneridge Association Board approved a $3,000 contribution toward the total cost.
The work will address severe, decades-old erosion along the creek between the western ends of Deer Run and Tarn Trail. Homeowners closest to the project area have been contacted directly.
Once the erosion work is complete, the project area will be reseeded and planted with native trees and shrubs. This restoration work is included in the total project cost.
Heavy rainfall can accelerate erosion, making these problems more damaging and costly over time. By addressing these areas now, Craneridge is helping protect our common property, reduce future erosion damage, and restore native habitat along the creek. This project represents an important investment in the long-term health and resilience of our community’s natural areas.
