🌿 Craneridge is Leading the Way in Invasive Species Management! 🌿

We’re proud to share the Spring 2025 WNY PRISM Newsletter, which spotlights the Craneridge community’s outstanding work to protect and restore our natural environment — right here in our shared woods.

Since 2021, our Woodlands and Habitat Committee has partnered with WNY PRISM to survey and manage invasive species across our neighborhood trails and green spaces. With hands-on support from PRISM’s Crew Assistance Program, Craneridge residents have:

🌱 Planted nearly 400 native trees and shrubs
🧤 Removed invasive honeysuckle and multiflora rose
🌼 Installed gardens with 30+ native plant species
🌲 Participated in hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) surveys and conservation treatment
👣 Attended educational walks and training sessions

These efforts are making a real, visible difference — native plants are thriving, invasive species are being pushed back, and Craneridge is becoming a model for sustainable community-driven restoration.

💪 Huge shoutout to our Habitat and Woodlands Committee for their dedication, as a well as Gwen Alegre for her passion and leadership, and to WNY PRISM for their guidance and partnership.
