Heads Up: Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Treatment Begins

This Sunday (April 21), we’ll begin our first year of Hemlock Woolly Adelgid treatment. We’ll focus first on HWA infested trees and adjacent areas (common and homeowner property). We’ll also start to proactively treat selected trees in areas with dense Hemlock populations. A highly effective liquid treatment (Imidaclorid) will be applied directly to the base of the trees and will last for 5-7 years. There will be NO spraying. Left untreated, HWA infested trees will die within 10 years. We will not be able to save all our Hemlocks.
