Fingers crossed for Saturday, November 4!
The Woodlands & Habitat Committee continues to adjust our planting schedule based on the weather, but we hope to catch a break this coming week.
As you may know, we’ll be planting 125 native trees and shrubs in a 1,000 sq./ft area behind the new Meadow garden.
New trees and shrubs >>>

Here’s what’s happening this coming week…
- Using a small Bobcat skid-steer with auger, Craneridge homeowner Moe Spencer will start digging holes for plants and fence posts as early as this weekend.
- Deer exclusion fence posts may be installed before planting day.
- Plants and deer exclusion fencing material will be delivered to the planting area.
- PLANTING DAY! Time to be announced. We’ll start with “how to plant a tree,” then start planting by sections (1, 2, 3, 4). Deer exclusion fencing will be installed around the areas where we are not planting.
Sign up to lend a hand! Water and snacks will be available. Once you sign up, an email will be sent with more details. Learn more about the reforesation project here.

What we’re planting. All trees and shrubs are native to our area and have been selected by a local native plant nursery that specializes in reforestation. Two-thirds of the plants are trees of varying sizes, and one third are shrubs. All have been selected based on the suitability to our planting area and their ability to support wildlife, birds, and insects (a.k.a. bird food).
