Reforestation Project Work Begins This Week

The Woodlands & Habitat Committee continues to adjust our planting schedule based on the weather, but we hope to catch a break this coming week. As you may know, we’ll be planting 125 native trees and shrubs in a 1,000 sq./ft area behind the new Meadow garden.

Here’s what’s happening this coming week

  1. Using a small Bobcat skid-steer with auger, Craneridge homeowner Moe Spencer will start digging holes for plants and fence posts as early as this weekend.
  2. Deer exclusion fence posts may be installed before planting day.
  3. Plants and deer exclusion fencing material will be delivered to the planting area.
  4. PLANTING DAY! At 9 AM, we’ll start with “how to plant a tree,” then start planting by sections (1, 2, 3, 4). Deer exclusion fencing will be installed around the areas where we are not planting.

Sign up to lend a hand! Water and snacks will be available. Once you sign up, an email will be sent with more details. Learn more about the reforesation project here.
