Hemlock Woolly Adelgid ID Training

This Saturday, Jan. 28 at 10 AM onsite at Craneridge, WNY PRISM expert, Brittany Hernon will show us how to look for Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA), and then how to upload our findings to the app, iMapInvasives. Register HERE. Group size is limited.

At Craneridge, we are committed to identifying and then deciding on appropriate treatment of HWA, which has a nearly 100% mortality rate among Eastern Hemlocks. And, sadly, HWA is moving in. It has been identified at Chestnut Ridge Park, Emory Park (South Wales), Zoar Valley MUA, Letchworth State Park, and Franklin Gulf Park. In some of these areas, the spread is widescale. Cornell University and PRISM have partnered to work with local communities on bio-control and other treatment options.

But, there is hope with early identification. We Need YOUR Help. Please take a few minutes to learn more and “Take A Stand Against HWA.” If you are unable to join us for the training on Saturday, we’ll have trained HWA Hunter neighbors in Craneridge who can help.
